About Us

The International Propeller Club of the United States is an international business network dedicated to the promotion of the maritime industry, commerce and global trade. There are more than 80 Ports/Chapters in maritime locations around the world, including almost 30 in foreign cities.

The Port of Miami Chapter was chartered in 1930, and was the 12th Port to be inducted. With a membership of close to 100, it is one of only two Ports that sponsors TWO Student Propeller Clubs – the first was chartered at the University of Miami in 1985, and the second was chartered at Miami Dade College in 2016.

The Propeller Club – Port of Miami has events every month of the year and features such annual events as Coast Guard Night, PortMiami Night, Pilot Night, Congressional Delegation Night, and a Cruise Ship Luncheon.

Mission Statement

To secure, sustain and expand the economic impact, presence and influence of the maritime and transportation industries locally, nationally, and internationally.

PURPOSES

The Propeller Club – Port of Miami will serve, promote, and support all aspects of the South Florida maritime industry while educating local, state, and national elected officials and the public regarding the importance of and necessity for all waterborne commerce.

The Propeller Club – Port of Miami will provide a network for all those who wish to engage, work, and succeed in the maritime, transportation and related industries.

The Propeller Club – Port of Miami will promote relations between the varied interests in the maritime industry, and facilitate the active exchange of ideas on matters which affect the industry.

The Propeller Club – Port of Miami will proactively work to support the future of the maritime and related industries through its Student Propeller Clubs and through other education initiatives to secure the resources needed to create and maintain well-paying and rewarding jobs and careers.
