University of Miami Night (or as it is commonly known, UM Night) spotlights the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences (RSMAS) and in particular the University of Miami Student Propeller Club with both Graduate and Undergraduate Members. This event has been held the past two years at the completely renovated SALT Waterfront Restaurant on the RSMAS Campus on the Rickenbacker Causeway. The menu is once again features Florida stone crabs, hash browned potatoes, creamed spinach, grilled tomatoes, and key lime pie. UM NIght 2018’s program was titled “The Tools of Oceanography: From a Message in A Bottle to a State-of-the-Art Laboratory”, and went over the variety of tools used to understand how ocean currents transport oil, marine debris, and other pollutants. The event drew a near-record attendance of 90 total attendees.
